VOLUNTEER OPPURTUNITIES

Nepal Children Helping Organisation, Bhaktapur Nepal welcomes all volunteers from different parts of world. Volunteers can be great role-models in enhancing a safe and happy atmosphere for our children. Our understanding is that first and foremost you are a volunteer for the children; the main focus of volunteers is to be involved mainly in the children's needs and well-being for a happy future.

We at NCHO know that when you volunteer your services you also have to make sacrifices of your time and expenses so we make sure that your time and placement fee's are not wasted. Any money saved goes directly back into the scholarship program. We wish to provide the basic material needs for the less fortunate families, giving them a future income to provide for the children. Furthermore, we have had great interest from many other welfare organizations asking us to provide volunteers for them, for example health clinic work or teaching English in a school.

The gratitude and care you receive during your placement makes the experience invaluable. There are different volunteer placements in which to offer your skills, it is left for you to decide, when applying, the area you believe you can make the biggest difference in. This volunteering program will take you beyond the surface of the Nepali culture, you will have a week of lessons and you can also apply, at suitable time, for a break for outside activities i.e. trekking, rafting, etc. We thank you for your great interest and taking the time contact us. We hope our co-operation and teamwork will generate a great depth of spirit within each of us.

After your free time we provide the necessary classes regarding culture, religion, language and information on volunteering in Nepal, which will make your stay much easier in Bhaktapur. The classes will run for a week, when you have finished the basic course you will be placed in Nepal Children helping Organisation or in a different project. But Nepal Children Helping Organisation will always stay in contact to guide you, care for you and will organize meetings to discuss any topic. You will be treated as a real family member of NCHO and you may find that you are not that far from home.

5. A simple report will be required at the conclusion of your stay as a volunteer. It should include advice, suggestions, feedback, and other information. More guidance about the report will be available to you as you near the end of your stay.
Also a journal of your stay and work can gladly be post on our Journal section from the website so the next volunteer can have more of an idea. The journal should not be longer than 250 words. Before you leave Bhaktapur, NCHO will organize a candle dinner or farewell to express it’s appreciation for all your hard work and to wish you a safe journey.
